What are wall-mounted faucets?

Something as minor as a faucet can have a huge impact on the overall appearance of your kitchen or bathroom design. Hence, you should very carefully choose your faucets as well. Before choosing the design, you will have to determine the type of mount you want. Many faucets are installed directly on the countertop. Some faucets are installed on the sink. Both these mounts are called deck mounts.  Other faucets are installed directly on the wall behind the sink. This type of mount is called a wall mount. Depending on your preferences, you can consider any option.

Although both options are great, some people prefer wall-mount faucets over their alternatives for the kitchen or bathroom design because of two big advantages. The first one is easy cleaning. You can easily clean the sink or basin when there are no faucets installed. People often leave behind stains in those hard-to-reach places around the faucet when it stays installed on the deck or sink. This makes the space unhygienic and unappealing. Also, the faucet stays away from water splashes. As a result, fewer water spots appear on the faucet, and you do not have to worry about frequent cleaning. The other advantage is aesthetic beauty. From a decor perspective, a wall-mounted faucet appears more neat and elegant.

Types of wall-mounted faucets

Wall-mounted faucets are available in many designs for the latest bathroom designs. You must choose an option that complements the theme of the space. This will help to create an appealing interior design. If you are not sure about the type you should choose, here are a few popular types you can consider:

01 of 05 Waterfall

The type is rightly named because it creates a waterfall effect. To give this effect, the head of the faucet is kept wide and bent at an angle. When you open the tap and water comes out of the faucet, the head makes the water flow appear like a waterfall at the edge of a cliff. If you are opting for a wall-mounted waterfall faucet, consider complementing it with vessel sinks. The combination appears more elegant and sophisticated.

However, there are a few drawbacks to using this type of faucet as well. One of the biggest issues is the wastage of water. These faucets tend to use more water than other wall-mounted faucet types. Also, if the faucet is installed too high from the sink, there are chances of splashing. Hence, it is considered a better match for your bathroom design compared to your kitchen.

02 of 05 Faucets with sprayers

You must have come across faucets with sprayers. These faucets are popular in kitchen sinks and not bathroom wash basins. This is because you can easily move the sprayer and do the dishes at your convenience. Also, cleaning the sink will be easier when you have an extendable sprayer attached to your faucet. In the last few years, these faucets with sprayers have gained immense popularity in kitchen sinks.

However, this does not mean that these faucets are not used in the latest bathroom designs. You can commonly find faucets with sprayers in the shower. People with a hot tub in the bathroom decor often opt for one as well.

03 of 05 Faucets with one handle

You must have noticed that a few faucets have only one handle while others have more. A single-handle faucet is one where you adjust both the water temperature and flow speed using just one lever on the handle. Depending on your preferences, the lever can be mounted on the wall. However, it stays mounted on the faucet in most cases. Compared to the other variants, this faucet has a more minimalist look and is ideal for people looking for a stylish and minimalist interior.

04 of 05 Single hole wall mount faucet

Just like a single-handle faucet, a single-hole wall-mount faucet is ideal for people who want a minimalist and sleek look in bathroom decor. As the name suggests, the faucet has only one hole that connects it to the water connection. These are used more commonly in kitchens. You can get a different three-hole design as well in the market. This design is more popular in bathroom interior designs.

05 of 05 Wall mount faucets with sensors

Technology has been infused into almost everything to improve the lifestyle of people, including faucets. You can find modern wall-mount faucets in the market that come with sensors. There are two variants available, one requires touch and the other one is touchless. The touch option is more common than the other option. You will just have to touch the faucet with your bare skin, using your hand or finger, to activate the sensors and control the faucet as per your needs. However, this might not be the best idea if you have kids at home. They might find it hard to reach the faucet when it is mounted on the wall.
